I love the music of The Doors and spent some time reading about them as well as listening to their work. The Doors took their name from the Aldous Huxley book
"The Doors of Perception", written in 1954. Aldous Huxley took the title of his
book from a poem by William Blake "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell" which has
the line "If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to
man as it is, infinite." Aldous Huxley wrote his book about a mescaline trip,
which is from the psychedelic cactus Peyote used by American Indians in
religious ceremonies for thousands of years.
